Position #: Expected Start Date: August 25, 2026 Union: PSBU Facility: Prince Albert Campus City/Town: Prince Albert Department: Faculty of Nursing, Health Sciences and Community Services Expected up to date: December 18, 2026 Type: Full Time Temporary FTE: 1.0 Shift Information: Full time, 72 hours biweekly, as assigned by Program Head.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Hours of Work: 72 hours biweekly, Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: $28.82- $34.44 per hour : 1. Assist with orientation of new simulation assistants to SLC.
- Collaborate with SLC coordinator for the acquisition of supplies and equipment, purchasing, storage and provision of lab supplies and equipment,
including bi-annual inventory count.
- Perform product and vendor research.
- Assess supply and equipment product suitability, availability, program value and performance in relationship to the objectives of the SLC.
- Prepare and present supplies and equipment for specific events, e.g.
instillation of fluid compartments of simulators, dressing bundles, simulated sutures, wound care simulators, heat sealed instruments.
- Dismantle and store supplies and equipment following simulation events/scenarios.
- Assist the technician with the physical preparation and dismantling of simulation equipment.
- Establish and maintain working relationships (both national and international) with counterparts from other educational institutions, simulation lab professionals, vendors, community representatives, health industry/education leaders.
- Work as a member of the SLC team.
- Liaise with faculty and health region representatives regarding current standards of practice, policies, procedures and preferred products.
Travel Required: No Education Graduate of a post-secondary nursing education program.
Other
Education and Training One year experience working in a health education simulation learning environment or in the use of nursing equipment and procedures.
Training or experience at the introductory level in the use of MS Office suite.
Competencies • Knowledge of current products and procedures used in health education simulation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective communication (listening, oral, written) skills.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates valuing diversity.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
