Position: Finishing and General Carpenters Needed

Start: Immediate

Location: 328 Cook Street, Victoria, BC

Wage: $36.00 – $44.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Aragon Properties Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated carpenters both in finishing and general carpentry to join our construction team on our 49 mixed use project.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-quality multi-family residential project with an established and respected developer committed to craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Carpenter will perform a variety of carpentry duties with a strong emphasis on both general and finishing carpentry skills.

The successful candidate(s) will be a dependable team player who takes pride in producing quality work while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

GENERAL CARPENTER

Perform residential wood framing, including walls, floors, roofs and structural components.

· Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

· Install blocking, backing and temporary supports.

· Perform layout and general carpentry work as required.

· Install doors, hardware and other carpentry components as directed.

· Assist with concrete forming and other carpentry-related tasks when required.

· Operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Assist with skilled labour duties to support overall site operations.

· Work collaboratively with site supervision, subcontractors and fellow trades.

· Follow all WorkSafeBC and company safety policies and procedures.

FINISHING CARPENTER

Trim & Millwork Installation

- Measure, cut, and install high-end interior trim, including baseboards, door casing, window sills, crown molding,



chair rails, and paneling.
- Hang and align interior and exterior doors, ensuring proper clearance, square alignment, and smooth operation.
- Install architectural millwork, feature walls, coffered ceilings, and custom decorative woodwork.

Cabinetry & Built-ins

- Assemble, fit, and securely install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, custom closet systems, built-in shelving, and mantels.
- Adjust hinges, drawer slides, and hardware for seamless function and alignment.

Hardware & Fixture Installation

- Install door hardware (handles, locks, deadbolts, hinges, door stops, and electronic entry systems).
- Mount bath hardware (towel bars, mirrors) and specialized millwork accessories.

Staircase Construction & Finish Work

- Install handrails, balusters, newel posts, and stair treads, ensuring full compliance with local building codes.

Quality Control & Finishing Touch

- Inspect completed work for gaps, flush joints, and seamless transitions; apply wood filler, putty, or caulking where necessary to prepare surfaces for painting or staining.
- Work accurately with complex angles, miter joints, cope joints, and scribing to fit uneven walls or floors.
- Identify and correct material defects or layout inconsistencies before final sign-off.

Site Collaboration & Safety

- Read and interpret architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and finish specifications accurately.
- Collaborate closely with Project Coordinators, Site Superintendents, painters,



and other sub-trades to keep schedules on track.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, adhering to all site safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.

Qualifications · Minimum 3–5 years of residential carpentry experience.

· Wood framing experience is essential.

· Experience working on multi-family residential projects is preferred.

· Carpentry Apprenticeship or Red Seal Certification is considered an asset but is not required.

· Ability to read construction drawings.

· Solid understanding of construction methods and safe work practices.

· Physically capable of performing construction-related duties.

· Reliable transportation to the project site.

· Valid driver's licence is considered an asset.
