We are a fast-paced electric pump and motor repair facility in Victoria BC looking for a reliable Skilled Labourer to join our dynamic team. We sell, service and repair commercial sewage and storm water pump systems and controls as well as heating, cooling and booster pump packages. We fabricate custom pump packages and modify existing pump systems based on our customers needs.
You will be instrumental in supporting our journeymen in performing a diverse array of duties including pump and motor removal, repair, installation and alignment. You will also be responsible for monitoring and aiding work being performed in confined spaces. The position also offers an exciting opportunity to learn on the job and develop your skills in various trades such as Electrical, Plumbing and Machining.
The right individual will have the potential to receive a Millwright apprenticeship with a permanent long term position.
Duties Include
- Assist with the preparation of work sites, including setting up tools, and organizing materials.
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
- Support team members in lifting, moving, and securing materials or equipment as needed.
- Support team members in confined space environments.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work well within a team environment.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn recent skills and adapt to various industrial environments and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Required).
- Confined Space and First Aid Certifications are an asset, but we will fully train and certify.
- Have special awareness in hazardous environments.
- A strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in a related trade (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or Automotive) is highly valued and will shorten your learning curve.
