WindsorEvents.ca is hiring a Part-Time Social Media Manager & Content Creator to manage our day-to-day social presence while also creating original, personality-driven content for our events.
This is not just a posting or scheduling role. We're looking for someone who understands social media creatively and commercially—someone who can identify content opportunities, create compelling content themselves, engage our audience, and help turn attention into event attendance.
The right person should be comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities will include
- Managing our Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other social channels
- Planning and maintaining social content calendars
- Writing captions and publishing/scheduling content
- Creating Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other short-form content
- Appearing on camera as one of the company's content creators
- Filming authentic, personality-driven promotional content
- Creating event announcements, promotional videos, interviews, trends, behind-the-scenes content, and other social-first creative
- Attending events to capture and publish content
- Responding to comments, messages, mentions, and community interactions
- Identifying relevant trends and adapting them to our events and audience
- Coordinating with video editors, designers, photographers, influencers, and other creators
- Organizing raw footage and creative assets
- Supporting paid-social creative by producing UGC concepts and source footage
- Monitoring content performance and using results to improve future content
- Maintaining a consistent brand voice across channels
On-Camera Content A significant component of this position involves personally creating content.
You should be comfortable
- Speaking naturally and confidently on camera
- Filming yourself using a phone
- Delivering scripted and unscripted content
- Interviewing attendees, vendors, and other people at events
- Creating authentic UGC-style promotional videos
- Developing hooks and concepts designed for short-form platforms
- Representing WindsorEvents.ca publicly on social media
You don't need to be an established influencer. Being engaging, credible, creative, and comfortable on camera matters considerably more than follower count. What We're Looking For The right person:
- Understands Instagram, TikTok, Reels, Stories, and short-form social content
- Has strong instincts for what makes people stop scrolling
- Can distinguish between content that merely looks positive and content that actually generates attention and action
- Is comfortable creating content independently
- Has strong written communication and copywriting skills
- Understands hooks, storytelling, CTAs, trends, and audience engagement
- Is organized enough to manage a consistent publishing schedule
- Can work from a content strategy without needing every post individually prescribed
- Is reliable, responsive, and meets deadlines
- Is comfortable receiving performance-based creative feedback
- Can represent the company professionally online and in person
Experience with social media management, UGC, content creation, events, entertainment, hospitality, lifestyle brands, or paid-social creative is strongly preferred. Hours & Scheduling
This is a part-time hourly position with hours scheduled according to operational and content requirements.
Hours may vary from week to week, and no minimum number of weekly hours is guaranteed.
Some evening and weekend availability is required for event coverage and time-sensitive content.
Work Environment The role combines remote social-media work with in-person content creation throughout Windsor–Essex.
Candidates must reside in or near Windsor–Essex and have reliable transportation.
What Success Looks Like
Our channels are consistently active without someone having to chase you to post. Content feels current rather than corporate. You proactively find things worth filming. Events generate enough footage to fuel content before, during, and afterward.
Most importantly, you're thinking about why someone would stop, watch, engage, share, or buy a ticket—not simply whether today's post has been published.
