WE’RE HIRING — SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Monarch Earthworks Ltd. | Red Deer County, Alberta
Full-Time Position
Monarch Earthworks Ltd. is looking for a creative, motivated, and highly organized Social Media Manager to take ownership of our digital presence and help tell the story of what we do.
We’re not looking for someone to simply make the occasional Facebook post. We want someone who can get out in the field, capture our projects and people, create professional content, grow our audience, and help turn our social media presence into a powerful tool for brand awareness, recruitment, community engagement, and new business development.
THE ROLE
As our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing the Monarch Earthworks brand across our social platforms.
You’ll work closely with management and our field crews to capture everything from major earthworks and excavation projects to landscaping, water and sewer installations, equipment, snow and ice operations, employees, community involvement, and the day-to-day work that goes into building Monarch.
This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate should be comfortable spending time both in the office and on active construction sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Monarch Earthworks' social media accounts and overall content strategy
- Develop and maintain a consistent content calendar
- Photograph and film active projects, equipment, crews, and completed work
- Create professional short-form videos, Reels, stories, photos, graphics, and written posts
- Website and SEO management
- Edit photos and video into engaging, professional content
- Showcase project progress from mobilization through completion
- Develop recruiting and employee-focused content
- Promote Monarch's earthworks, excavation, underground utility, landscaping,
agricultural, and snow & ice services
- Highlight our equipment, technology, GPS machine control, safety culture, and capabilities
- Promote community involvement, sponsorships, events, and company initiatives
- Respond appropriately to comments and messages
- Help maintain a professional and consistent Monarch brand across digital platforms
- Identify opportunities to increase reach, followers, engagement, and inquiries
- Assist with paid social advertising and targeted campaigns
- Track performance and provide regular reporting on reach, engagement, follower growth, leads, and campaign results
- Work with management to develop marketing campaigns around specific services and seasons
- Help generate qualified leads and turn online attention into real business opportunities
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who is creative but also understands that social media needs to produce measurable results.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience managing business social media accounts
- Strong photography and videography skills
- Video editing and graphic design abilities
- Experience creating Reels and short-form video content
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills
- Understanding of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other relevant platforms
- Knowledge of social media advertising and analytics
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Robust organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to recognize great content opportunities without always being directed
- Professionalism when working around clients, employees, and active job sites
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project locations as required
Experience in construction, heavy equipment, earthworks, landscaping, agriculture, or a related industry would be a major asset — but the ability to create excellent content and understand our business is what matters most.
WHAT YOU’LL BE CAPTURING
This isn't a desk-only marketing position.
One day you might be filming excavators and dozers moving thousands of cubic metres of material. The next could involve a commercial landscape project, underground utility installation, GPS-controlled grading, a completed development, snow operations, new equipment, or an employee feature.
We want someone who can take what happens every day at Monarch and turn it into content people actually want to watch.
OUR GOAL
We want to build one of the strongest and most recognizable construction brands in Central Alberta.
Our Social Media Manager will play an important role in showing potential customers, employees, contractors, developers, and the community who Monarch Earthworks is, what we're capable of, and why people choose to work with us.
Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and demonstrated ability.
