The Social Media Specialist plays a key role within the Mirvish Village marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, this role is responsible for driving day-to-day social media strategy, content creation and community engagement, while also supporting broader marketing initiatives across the community.
Approximately 80% of this role is dedicated to social media, with the remaining time focused on marketing coordination, events, activations and campaign support.
This role is ideal for someone who is both creative and organized — someone who understands how to build a brand online, engage an audience authentically and support larger marketing initiatives behind the scenes.
This role is responsible for the social media strategy and execution for the community of Mirvish Village including promoting its rental homes and for The Kitchen, a unique food hall and event space opening soon at Mirvish Village.
You will work closely with the marketing, leasing and property management teams to bring campaigns, events and placemaking initiatives to life through compelling digital storytelling and on-the-ground support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day execution of Mirvish Village and The Kitchen social media channels, including content planning, publishing and audience engagement
- Develop and implement social media strategies that support brand awareness, visitation and leasing objectives
- Create and capture platform-appropriate content, including posts, reels, stories, photography, video and event coverage
- Maintain and execute the Mirvish Village brand voice and visual identity across social platforms
- Monitor social trends, cultural moments and platform developments to ensure content remains relevant and effective
- Track social media performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations to improve engagement and reach
- Collaborate with tenants,
partners and stakeholders to develop social content and community storytelling opportunities
- Coordinate external content creators, photographers, videographers and influencers as required
- Support execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, PR, events, partnerships and community programming
- Assist with planning and on-site delivery of events, activations and retail tenant initiatives
- Coordinate marketing assets, timelines and deliverables across internal teams, agencies and vendors
- Ensure brand consistency across marketing materials and communication channels
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in social media, marketing coordination or digital content roles
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content trends and engagement strategies
- Experience creating content for brands, destinations, retail or lifestyle-focused organizations
- Comfortable capturing content in office using mobile or camera equipment
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear written and visual communication skills
- Interest in placemaking, culture, retail, events or community-driven brands
