About The Acadia Community Association The Acadia Community Association (ACA) is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to building a connected, active, and welcoming neighbourhood in southeast Calgary. For decades, the ACA has supported community programs, recreation, events, and local initiatives that bring people together across all ages and stages of life.
At the heart of our work is the Acadia Recreation Complex - a multi-use community facility that hosts sports, programs, rentals, and events seven days a week. We are currently in an exciting period of growth and organizational renewal, focused on strengthening operations, improving systems, and building a supportive workplace culture.
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Social Media & Website Coordinator to manage our online presence across social media platforms and our company website. This role is responsible for creating engaging content, maintaining our website, growing our digital audience, and supporting marketing initiatives that strengthen our brand and connect with our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with organizational goals and campaigns.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers in a professional and timely manner.
- Track and report on social media performance using analytics tools and recommend strategies for growth.
- Update and maintain website content, including news, events, blog posts, images, and landing pages.
- Ensure website content is accurate, current, and optimized for user experience and SEO.
- Coordinate digital marketing campaigns, email communications, and promotional initiatives.
- Capture or coordinate photography and video content for social media and website use.
- Design event posters and other marketing collateral.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote programs, events, services, and organizational news through the website, newsletter, and Hello Acadia.
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, emerging social media platforms, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing social media and website content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using content management systems (such as Squarespace or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design tools.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and website analytics (Google Analytics is an asset).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
- Photography, videography, and basic video editing experience are considered assets.
