Job Summary This role administers international approval projects on behalf of Nemko customers.
This role reports to Department Manager, International Approval Services (IAS) of Nemko Canada.
Responsibilities Coordinates with other departments, International Partners/Agencies and foreign certification authorities to deliver one-stop service to customers as required to accomplish project objectives. Provides a point of contact for customers that are requiring international approvals in multiple geographic locations
Responds to customer inquiries for information on certification and approvals concerning products to be exported to a foreign country
Plans, directs, and coordinates designated international approval projects, ensures that the goals of each project meet customer needs and are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters and regulatory requirements. Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identify project scope and estimated cost, lead time and applicable foreign regulatory requirements and procedures
Identify applicable standards used for international approvals
Identify regulatory codes and laws for international approvals
Arrange alternative testing services with International Partners and other organizations to complete projects when it makes more sense to be done elsewhere
Review engineering reports for completeness
Ensure all applicable forms are completed properly
Ensure project cost and obligations are met
Keeps up to date on international approval requirements. Researches and gathers information and updates on foreign technical requirements, government regulations, administrative guidelines and working practices and forms for international approvals
Compiles and maintains a data base system containing such information. Informs and directs internal staff on national deviations and country specific Safety Standards and requirements associated with the preparation of engineering reports
Plans, organizes and conducts training sessions with customers, internal staff and International Partners/Agencies to ensure consistency of process and maintenance of technical competence. Develops training materials to encompass regulatory requirements, procedural requirements and conformity requirements for each country of interest
Arranges for subject matter experts to assist with technical training and/or conduct training sessions as required
Documents, reviews and updates international approval working processes and procedures so that all users of the information can provide consistent, cost effective and timely services
Education Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering and/or equivalent 5+ years’ experience in compliance industry
PMP designation is preferred
Bilingualism (English and another) is preferred
Experience 5+ years’ experience in product compliance industry and preferably 2+ more years’ experience with CENELEC, IEC or IEC-based standards
Knowledge of Nemko Group programs and services
Skills Computer proficiency (Microsoft office suite)
Strong problem-solving ability; detail oriented
Ability to work independently
High level of communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to initiate and develop new customer contacts
Responsive and pleasant when dealing with external and internal customers, peers and co-workers
