Overview Senior Accountant role at Horizon Recruitment Inc. This position supports a growing accounting team across Western Canada and is a hands-on role focused on accuracy, consistency, and insight across all finance functions. It thrives in a fast-evolving, collaborative environment and requires owning work from end to end.
Remuneration Base pay range: CA$80,000.00/yr - CA$90,000.00/yr. Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered.
Responsibilities Lead assigned areas such as reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
Drive accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
Prepare financial reports and internal statements to support decision-making
Perform bank reconciliations and manage intercompany accounts
File GST and PST returns and assist with tax reporting requirements
Support budgeting, forecasting, and costing activities
Collaborate with external and internal auditors during financial reviews
Contribute to ERP (Sage X3) implementation by improving and documenting processes
Translate financial insights into actionable information for non-finance colleagues
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy




Support ESG and regulatory reporting as needed
Qualifications CPA designation or near completion
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
Comfortable working with multiple systems and large datasets
Manufacturing or similar industry experience preferred
Previous Sage (any version) experience an asset, X3 not required
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for explicit communication
Willingness to work full-time in office, with some flexibility after training
