Overview Registered Nurse - Relocate to British Columbia, Canada — Fraser Health Authority. Relocate your nursing career to Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley area in British Columbia, on Canada’s west coast. Fraser Health has a expedited licensure process for U.S.-registered nurses to work in British Columbia. New employees relocating from other provinces or countries who are hired into regular full- or part-time nursing positions may be eligible for relocation assistance up to CAD $5,000. Eligibility and conditions apply.
Salary CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour
Responsibilities Provides nursing care to assigned patients consistent with current Standards of Professional Practice and the Fraser Health Authority Nursing Philosophy.
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care; diagnoses actual or potential problems and strengths, plans interventions, performs interventions and evaluates outcomes.
Collects information from a variety of sources using observation, communication and physical assessment skills to enable appropriate nursing care.
Writes timely and accurate reports of relevant observations including patient and family teaching and evaluation of nursing care.
Communicates and consults with health care team members about patient care; acts as an advocate to protect patient autonomy, privacy, dignity and access to information.
Participates in quality improvement activities and research by identifying patient care issues and collecting data.
Participates as an active member of nursing and hospital committees and councils for improvement of patient care and work workplace.
Mentors and supports new nurses and peers; participates in orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff and students; identifies learning needs and maintains clinical competency.




Evaluates patient care programs, techniques, standards and procedures by providing feedback about effectiveness and patient care outcomes.
Maintains a safe environment for patients, families and staff by adhering to safety and emergency procedures.
Performs other professionally related duties as required.
Qualifications Education and Experience Graduate of an approved school of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Graduate of a Post Basic Critical Care course and/or one year of recent related experience. Current CPR Certificate.
Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal effectively with others; organize work; operate related equipment.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
