About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work in Ottawa, Canada . This is an on‑site position supporting mission‑critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities.

Compensation
C$26‑36/hr (CAD hourly). Rates vary based on experience level and project complexity. Emergency and after‑hours work may qualify for premium rates.

Key Responsibilities

Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations

Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)

Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling

Perform cross‑connects and patch panel work

Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues

Document all work with photos and detailed notes

Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams

Qualifications

Data center or IT infrastructure experience

Server hardware and networking knowledge

Reliable and skilled with robust communication skills

Proximity to local data center facilities

Versatile schedule for on‑call/emergency work
