Key responsibilities:

- Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course being taught.
- Instructing/teaching/testing.
- Marking/grading of exams and assignments etc.
- Providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintaining regular office hours.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language is required.
- Background/specialization in subject area required.
- Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
- Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
- Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Additional information:

Class times: Tuesday; 11:30 am - 2:15 pm. We seek a practicing artist with a commitment to professional practice and an inspiring teaching style.



MFA or equivalent degree required. Must have an ability to work collegially within a complex institutional setting, manage deadlines, and operate within the respectful workplace guidelines of the University of Manitoba. Must be able to supervise a diverse teaching environment and coordinate resources to deliver an above average student experience. Should have experience using digital technology in the classroom. Candidate should possess a skill set that includes problem-solving using traditional and experimental methods in a low-tech setting; 3D object-making using non-traditional and traditional materials; a working knowledge of colour theory; formal composition; methods of drawing for visualization and image-making; development of subject matter and content; the ability to supervise student assignments/project and development culminating in a presentation portfolio for evaluation; the ability to provide ongoing mechanical/conceptual assistance with assignments and projects employing an inspiring teaching style and respect for diverse learning skills.
