Job Purpose:

McLean Chimney Co. Ltd. is seeking skilled and safety-conscious Steeplejacks to join our team. The Steeplejack is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and construction of elevated structures, including smokestacks & chimneys. This role requires extensive climbing, rigging, and working at heights, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently in compliance with health and safety regulations

Position: Steeplejack

Wages offered: $37 /hour

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Number of Vacancies: 02

Type of employment: Seasonal- full time (on- site)

Language requirement: English

Responsibilities include:

- Read blueprints to determine work requirements
- Inspect products and processing methods; prepare reports and ensure that regulations governing health, quality and safety are followed
- Help with the installation, the assembly, and repairs to equipment
- Document work completed
- Perform restorative work
- Maintain equipment
- Follow emergency and safety procedures
- Restore,



clean or paint existing masonry structures
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
- Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging

Skills & Abilities required:

- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience working as a Steeplejack, Industrial Rope Access Technician, Industrial Chimney Worker, or in the repair and maintenance of elevated industrial structures is required.
- Valid IRATA/SPRAT Rope Access Certificate (Level 1, 2, or 3) is an asset.
- Suspended access equipment training
- Ability to perform work at heights exceeding 100 feet.
- Regular travel to client sites throughout Ontario and other Canadian provinces will be required depending on project assignments. Transportation and work-related travel arrangements will be provided by the employer where applicable.

Essential Functions:

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting (up to 100 lbs), bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Ability to work at job sites that may be noisy, dusty, and involve exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to perform work at heights exceeding 30 feet.
- Regular travel across the region/country will be required for project assignments.

Working Conditions:

- Work is performed at industrial facilities, power plants, manufacturing sites,



and other elevated structures. Employees must comply with all applicable occupational health and safety requirements and use employer-provided personal protective equipment.
- Regular travel to client sites throughout Ontario and other Canadian provinces will be required.
- The position will require travel 95% of the time.

Overtime : Overtime will be compensated in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
