Role: Storage Engineer

Location: Canada - Remote

Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale backup and recovery solutions.
- Provide L3 technical support and act as the senior escalation point for complex backup and storage issues.
- Lead engineering initiatives involving IBM Storage Protect and IBM Storage Defender Data Protect.
- Design, configure, and manage Commvault and Rubrik backup and recovery environments.
- Develop and maintain enterprise backup, replication, retention, and recovery strategies.
- Architect solutions for disaster recovery, ransomware protection, cyber resilience, and business continuity.
- Perform backup and recovery assessments and identify opportunities for platform optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex backup failures, performance issues, replication problems, and recovery challenges.
- Implement backup solutions across hybrid infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and recovery validation procedures.
- Support ransomware recovery and immutable/cyber-resilient backup strategies.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and operational standards for backup platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure,



storage, cloud, security, application, and disaster recovery teams.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and recovery runbooks.
- Participate in major incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem management.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance on backup and recovery technologies.

Required Skills:

- 8+ years of experience in enterprise backup, storage, infrastructure, or data protection engineering.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Relevant certifications in IBM, Commvault, Rubrik, storage, cloud, or disaster recovery technologies are preferred.
- Experience supporting mission-critical applications and high-availability environments.
- Solid experience working with security and infrastructure teams on cyber-resilience initiatives.
