The Mechanic position is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre – Central and typically reports directly to the Repair Supervisor. Their primary focus is repairing automotive and heavy equipment, small engines, buses and miscellaneous equipment. Compensation, Benefits, And Perks
Hourly wage - $35.14 - $36.26 (hourly wage based on certifications) Company supplied uniforms Company supplied tools Regular daytime hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Paid rotating on-call Company pension program Company paid health & dental Employee referral program Starting with three (3) weeks of paid vacation Paid personal days Employer-paid training and development Duties And Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical,
and hydraulic issues accurately Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards Replace or repair defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques Maintain detailed service records and documentation Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times Look up and order parts as required Education Requirements
Must have 310T Truck and Coach Technician 310S Automotive Service Technician certification is considered an asset but is not required Work Experience Requirements
Valid DZ-Class Driver License Clean driving record 2 years’ mechanical experience Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements
Know the correct use, maintenance and safety procedures of the hand tools and powered equipment related to this type of work while applying that knowledge Knowledge of air brakes and hydraulic systems Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.* Canadian Base Operators welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
