Commissioning Process Technician – Water Operations
WolfTrek Corp. is an Indigenous‑owned technology recruiting and workforce solution provider that specializes in supporting companies operating in various sectors across Canada. We are currently hiring a Commissioning Process Technician to support a water treatment operations project team in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. The role reports to the Senior Engineer, Process, and involves the facility startup of two water treatment facilities over the next six to twelve months.
The successful candidate is a highly motivated and resourceful individual with strong learning agility, interpersonal, hands‑on and communication skills, and outstanding attention to detail. They should be comfortable troubleshooting, making decisions, and maintaining analytical rigor while working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work independently with nominal supervision while maintaining collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
Collaborate with the commissioning team to execute the facility commissioning plan on schedule.
Analyze process data and make recommendations to advance the commissioning plan based on results.
Work closely with operations, maintenance and automation teams to troubleshoot process units that require additional attention.
Recommend and document the path forward for identified issues through the Management of Change process.
Execute process changes in coordination with operations.
Key Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience focused on water/wastewater treatment, bioorganic, or similar pilot projects or industries.
Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Water, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical discipline (required).
Experience working in a water or wastewater treatment facility or similar commissioning/operation (strong asset).
Experience with ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, high‑density sludge or similar clarifiers (robust asset).
Technical fundamentals in fluid mechanics, solids/slurry handling, basic chemistry and process control.
Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
Driver’s licence required.
