WHO WE ARE
ONE KIDS PLACE Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Position: Occupational Therapist
Location: Nipissing
Effective: ASAP until January 2026 with the possibility of extension. We welcome applicants interested in a full-term contract as well as those seeking a locum or shorter-term opportunity to assist with service delivery coverage.

Job type: Contract, Full Time – 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Our staff are expected to maintain flexibility in their schedules, which may include working outside standard business hours as per client needs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, treatment, transition and discharge support to assist children and youth to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. Clinical supervision of therapy assistants, as well as family and community partner education, are important components of the role.
JOB DUTIES
Provide quality family-centered care through assessment and treatment programs to assist children/youth in achieving maximal functional ability in self-care, productivity, and leisure.
Utilize therapeutic techniques and modalities as necessary in the provision of therapy.
Document client-related activities and workload practices according to Centre and College standards,
maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
Communicate effectively and ensure continuity of care by making treatment decisions in close collaboration with the child/youth/family, other rehabilitation staff, and community service providers as part of an inter‑disciplinary team.
Work with the child/youth, family and/or other caregivers to identify specific treatment/intervention and design appropriate daily activities and programs, with a focus on prevention, maintenance and/or development of new skills.
Provide clinical supervision within the discipline’s scope of practice to support personnel and placement students.
Make equipment recommendations or referrals to appropriate services within and outside the Centre.
Act as a resource and educator for children, families and community partners through development and implementation of education programs.
Pursue ongoing professional development and growth.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
At least 2 years of related work experience in a pediatric or health‑care setting with children and youth with special needs is preferred.
Ability to work within an inter‑disciplinary team.
Working knowledge of community resources and supports in the Districts of Nipissing, Muskoka, and Parry Sound.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Valid Ontario driver’s license, proof of insurance and a reliable vehicle.
Computer competency and adaptability in the use of software for assessments, documentation, programming and communication.
Bilingual (English/French) is preferred.
ADP authorizer designation is an asset.
Proof of COVID‑19 vaccinations as required by the sector.

COMPENSATION
$41.13 - $51.58 hourly (depending on prior experience, as per the Collective Agreement).
