About the Role
We are seeking a qualified, mid level litigator to join our team, focusing on serving First Nations interests and engaging in a practice focused on Aboriginal Law and experience in constitutional, environment/climate/sustainability, and/or energy in our Toronto Office.
Qualifications
5-10 year call
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Called in BC and, or other Provinces is a bonus.
Experience in constitutional, environment/climate/sustainability, and/or energy law.
A genuine interest in developing a practice to serve First Nations interests
Required Skills
Self-motivated and confident
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent technical/legal writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills
Able to explain complex legal concepts and procedural information across disciplines and cultures
A solid team player able to balance working independently and within interdisciplinary teams including providing mentorship to junior associates
Willingness to travel and cultivate relationships with current and future clients
Willingness to participate in cultural and professional events (external/internal) including speaking engagements
Pay range and compensation package
Salary commensurate with experience and year of call, and billable hours target. salary posted is based on 1300 billable hours per year example
