We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for overseeing that products are built in accordance with quality plans to achieve overall customer satisfaction. The Quality Assurance Specialist responds effectively to all internal inquiries and ensures issues are closed with appropriate tracking, actions and resolutions. They have experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS), makes decisions based on data and applies quality methodologies to resolve issues.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes and practices to meet customer and ISO9001 requirements.
Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, customers and vendors to effectively support and resolve quality related issues and risks.
Manage and sustain CAR processes and review effectiveness of actions for all internal and external issues.
Assist with CAPA team to perform root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective action plans are implemented from incoming inspection, non-conformance reports, customer rejects.
Plan and perform in-process inspections to verify compliance to MWIs, procedures and standards.
Track, analyze and report quality trends – NCR’s, CAR, CRD-CRR, FPY & PPM to drive and implement preventative measures and actions
Develop incoming inspection criteria (define sampling procedures, measurements, equipment, create forms, research drawings, specifications and provide training)
for specified parts when required and corporate with procurement team for generating and following up any supplier defect which documented in SNCR process.
Coordinate the Material Review Board (MRB) to ensure timely disposition and responsibility of quarantined non-conforming materials
Conduct QMS internal and external audits
Capability to perform daily QA Auditor tasks and provide coverage during their absence.
Oversee Document Control System to ensure documents are approved and published for operational reference and training
Develop, implement and conduct training to improve QA and QC knowledge, techniques and understanding of systems and standards
Participate in and adhere to DSM’s safety policies and practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced certifications in quality management are an asset (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Internal audit certification (e.g., ISO9001 Lead Auditor) is an asset and highly desirable.
Familiarity with processes and methodologies such as, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Design For Manufacturability (DFM), FMEA, APQP, and GR&R; studies
Advanced understanding of manufacturing statistics, such as process capability (Cp, Cpk, Pp, PpK), control charts, and DOE.
Possesses solid interpersonal skills – ability to work with and develop relationships with internal teams and customers
Lean knowledge and training would be preferred (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen)
Intermediate to Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to clearly and concisely convey information and requirements
Excellent organizational skills – ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and perform tasks
