Classification Rate : $30.60/hour
Employment Type : Part time
Reports to : Manager, Engineering Services
The Technician III is responsible for performing a wide range of general building maintenance and repair activities to support the safe and efficient operation of the arena. This position requires a strong background in plumbing and general facility maintenance, with the ability to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks across multiple building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned as required)
Perform general building maintenance throughout the arena, including suites, concourses, concession areas, dining rooms, office spaces and exterior building components
Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance with faucets, toilets, drains, valves and other plumbing systems
Complete minor renovation repairs including drywall, painting, flooring and ceilings.
Repair and maintain door hardware, cabinetry and millwork
Install, maintain and remove building signage
Complete general office maintenance such as mounting shelving, artwork, whiteboards.
Maintain the shop’s Health & Safety procedures, material inventory and shop equipment
Assist Building Operators in preventative maintenance and repairs




Assist Conversions Department in general building set-up
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years of commercial building maintenance experience with a strong emphasis on plumbing and general facility maintenance
Experience maintaining a commercial facility is preferred
Extensive knowledge of stationary shop tools and hand tools
Experience reading blueprints and building specifications
Some plumbing and mechanical experience
Experience working with stains, lacquers and paints
Some experience working with CMMS Programs an asset, but not required
Ability to take initiative and work well under minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Superior organization skills and detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a customer service first mindset.
Ability to work effectively under deadlines
Ability to multitask and prioritize work load
Ability to work flexible hours when necessary
Grade 12 education
