Location: 750 W Broadway #505, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1H4
Position: Full Time
About the Role As an Ultrasound Technologist at Xray 505, you will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including breast, abdominal, pelvic/EV, renal, soft tissue masses, thyroid, extremities, and hernia. You will work under the direction of a Radiologist, collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities Receive and complete requisitions, enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system, and prepare patients for procedures.
Gather and verify patient history data prior to scans, complete worksheets with exam findings for the Radiologist.
Perform ultrasound examinations: breast, abdominal, pelvic/EV, renal, soft tissue masses, thyroid, extremities, hernias, etc.
Perform procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines and TELUS policies.
Ensure updates are completed and PACS system reflects accurate codes; verify paperwork is correct and complete prior to submission.
Communicate with radiologist regarding scheduled special procedures.
Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
Prepare patients for sonography by assessing needs and providing education.
Assist with imaging center workflow and general duties as needed.
Maintain knowledge of PACS systems.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and workspace safety.
Comply with patient safety and confidentiality policies.
Perform related clerical and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications Completion of a recognized post‑diploma sonography program or equivalent.
Current Sonography Canada registration in good standing.
ARDMS or CRGS certification.
Minimum of 2 years ultrasound experience; breast ultrasound experience a plus.
At least one year of experience or training in diagnostic ultrasound in at least two specialty areas.
Preferred: one year of experience and registry in remaining subspecialties.
Experience as a general sonographer, primarily transabdominal pelvic and abdominal.
CPR and WHMIS certifications considered an asset.
Experience with PACS and GE ultrasound equipment is beneficial.
Effective decision‑making skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a dynamic team.
Commitment to high‑quality patient care and customer service.
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Comfortable working in a rapid‑paced environment and able to work well under pressure.
