As Strategic Payments Partnerships Director, you will shape and grow relationships with major card networks, payment providers, acquirers, and other financial services partners. You’ll develop strategies that accelerate adoption of payments and financial products while improving commercial performance and customer value. This high-impact individual contributor role sits at the intersection of payments strategy, product, commercial development, and partner management.

You’ll lead complex negotiations, influence senior stakeholders, and turn partnership opportunities into measurable business outcomes. Working across a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, you’ll help drive innovation, market expansion, and new revenue opportunities. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence a payments ecosystem at global scale.

Accountabilities:

- Develop and execute strategic partnership initiatives that increase merchant acquisition and adoption of payments and financial products.
- Own relationships with major card brands, acquirers, and financial services providers, establishing joint business plans with clear priorities, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Strategy, Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, and Sales teams to translate business objectives into actionable partnership strategies.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation, geographic expansion, co-marketing, new capabilities, and incremental revenue streams.
- Improve payments economics by identifying opportunities for margin expansion, stronger approval performance, greater partner efficiency, and improved commercial terms.

- Lead complex commercial negotiations and deal structuring, balancing growth opportunities, economics, risk, and operational feasibility.
- Monitor payment-network developments, regulatory changes, market trends, and ecosystem dynamics, serving as a subject-matter expert on the payments landscape.
- Coordinate partner roadmaps,



product launches, and cross-functional initiatives to ensure timely execution and measurable business impact.

- Represent the organization externally, strengthen existing strategic relationships, and cultivate new partnerships that expand market access and capabilities.
- Track partnership performance through financial, operational, and customer metrics, ensuring partners remain aligned with strategic priorities.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience managing major payments providers such as Fiserv, Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Worldpay, or comparable organizations.
- 3+ years of experience managing or co-developing strategic relationships with major card networks such as Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
- 5+ years of experience developing strategy within financial services, fintech, card networks, acquiring, payments, or a closely related environment.
- 3+ years of experience supporting financial-services product launches, new capabilities, or geographic market expansion.
- 5+ years of applied knowledge of payments economics, card-network dynamics, acquiring models, and the broader payments value chain.

- Strong executive presence, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently with a high level of accountability while collaborating effectively across a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong commercial judgment and analytical capabilities, combined with close attention to execution, financial performance, and risk.

- Ability to develop clear recommendations, challenge ideas constructively, influence decisions, and build alignment without relying on formal authority.
- Proactive, adaptable,



and action-oriented approach, with the determination to turn strategic opportunities into measurable results.
