As the Streetlight Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the existing streetlight asset inventory, and functions as the architect of the systems data. Using primarily Geographic Information systems (GIS) you will maintain the functionality of the streetlight assets through maintenance of the physical lighting itself, citizen inquiries on the maintenance of the system, update the geo-database, draft design in GIS. Primary duties include:

- Maintain the streetlight geo-database electric utility network which encompasses the data layers: Streetlight Standard (Pole), Luminaire, Base, Controller, Cabinet, Node, Duct, Streetlight Path/ Secondary Distribution (Wire), Conductor Route, Streetlight Inspection, Joint User (attachments to poles), Device Load (attachment counts on poles and their availability to support 3rd party structures), and Streetlight Outage (streetlight outage map source data).




- Import and verify streetlight designs imported from external consultants and internal designs via the Corporate Analytics & Innovation (CAI) drafting team, including final quality control and implementation in the system as the permanent record.
- Design and maintain GIS database models, templates, and related material including the fields, attributes and data documentation.
- Investigate data gaps in the system and track down missing data/designs though multiple teams, business units and external companies.
- Collaborate with streetlight engineers and design technicians to support internal streetlight programs to achieve capital goals.
- Perform analysis and data manipulation in order to inform decisions made in regard to the City's streetlight work.
- Monitor the 311 system and facilitate information exchange between 311 and the Streetlight Outage Map for any updates/changes required.

Qualifications

- A completed 2 year diploma in Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in streetlight asset management, electrical asset related experience or utility sector experience, using work management systems and ArcGIS (or related) OR
- A degree in geography with a focus on GIS, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in streetlight asset management, electrical asset related experience or utility sector experience using work management systems and ArcGIS (or related).
- Experience using ArcGIS or comparable GIS platforms is required.
- Proficiency with work management systems such as INFOR, Motorola 311, Incident/Collision Occurrence Notification (ICON),



Calgary Right of Way Management (CROWM), or similar platforms will be considered an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Expertise with business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, or web intelligence tools is considered an asset.
- Knowledge supporting electric utility, streetlighting, or electrical systems is considered an asset.
- Experience importing and managing streetlight as-built records will be an asset.
- Success in this role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as required.

Working Conditions: This position is primarily performed in an office environment and requires extended periods of computer-based work using GIS, work management systems, databases, reporting tools, and other technical applications. The role requires sustained concentration, visual attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing requests from multiple stakeholders. Pre-employment Requirements
