Department Information The DeGroote School of Business (DSB) is a comprehensive, research intensive, business school offering undergraduate, graduate and executive development programs across two campuses in Hamilton and Burlington. DSB’s mission is to foster interdisciplinary thinking and evidence-based management to transform business and society.

The Faculty provides outstanding educational programs to over 4000 students across B. Comm, MBA, executive MBA, Masters and PhD programs. Annually, over 1300 students enroll in DeGroote’s Executive Education development programs and the Directors College. Over 1200 participants register annually for external outreach events.

Consistent with its mission, The DeGroote School of Business has joint programs and partnerships with the Faculties of Health Sciences, Engineering and Humanities and intends to continue to expand interdisciplinary programs as part of the University’s Strategic Mandate Agreement and the School’s strategic plan.

DSB is also the administrative home of several interdisciplinary programs and enterprises including the Health Leadership Academy, MSc in eHealth, Bachelor of Commerce in Integrated Business and Humanities and the Directors College.

Academic Experiential Learning (AEL) in the DeGroote School of Business provides vision, strategy, and leadership in building, and redefining the educational journey that combines complex problem solving, critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity to prepare students to be flexible in a rapidly changing world.

Job Summary:

As a representative for McMaster and the designate program,



the Ambassador will participate in and present information at recruitment events. This will include assisting in the preparation of recruitment materials and participating in the department’s recruitment committee.

Accountabilities:

1. Present information at on and off campus recruitment events, including higher education conferences and career fairs.
2. Act as a spokesperson for McMaster and the designate program.
3. Contribute to the development of recruitment communication strategies and related objectives.
4. Develop promotional materials to assist in the recruitment activities of the department.
5. Host visiting groups for onsite events.
6. Attend and participate in recruitment committee meetings.
7. Perform other duties of a similar nature, as required.

Qualifications: Education: Currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program.

Experience: Preference will be given to students in years 3, 4, and 5 of a DeGroote undergraduate program - BCom or IBH. We are looking for students with drive, initiative, and passion to be part of the MCCD's activation year. Interest or experience in marketing & communications, program development & delivery, partnership building, and student engagement would be an asset.

Computer work, faxing, filing, photocopying, data entry/updating spreadsheets, pick-up &/or delivery of documents at other buildings on main campus.

Attention to detail & accuracy is key; excellent computer skills required.

Working Conditions:

- Travels to various off campus recruitment events. Prolonged periods of standing during recruitment events.
