Job Summary Cultural and Heritage Programs is responsible for multi-disciplinary arts centres, heritage and museum facilities and structures, the delivery of arts, heritage and museum public programming and events, volunteer program development, audience development, and exhibits and research.

You work with management to supervise full-time and part-time staff to establish, oversee and foster an effective complement of museum programs and indoor and outdoor events for the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum. You recommend appropriate service delivery strategies and plans for museum heritage programming and oversee museum operations that include managing projects and museum operations for large special events.

You also develop and recommend new methods and practices for the management of staff that support the programming and events at city museums. You are required to work outside for part of day to oversee operations for the villagers/ grounds/ buildings/ animals.

Education And Experience Minimum of 3 year university degree in social sciences, humanities, education or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of wide-ranging and incremental supervisory experience as well as experience in volunteer and staff recruitment

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates

- Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction.
