POSITION TITLE: Airport Maintenance Mechanic, Full-Time (Seasonal)
HOURS OF WORK: Eighty (80) hours in two (2) week pay period
HOURLY RATE: $36.07 - $39.25 (2025)
Unionized Job Vacancy Surrounded by mountain ranges and beautiful lakes and rivers, Smithers is a true northern gem. The town has a population of around 5,400 and is a service hub for the surrounding region comprised of approximately 15,000 people. General Statement Of Duties Reporting to the Airport Manager, the Airport Maintenance Mechanic provides monitoring, maintenance, and repair functions for the airport runway, roadways, grounds, buildings, equipment, sewer and water.
Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent
A valid Class 1 or Class 3 BC Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement
Level 1 First Aid
At least one (1) year of experience in airport equipment service,



some heavy-duty mechanical experience, welding experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
