Become an integral part of Vancouver Coastal Health as an Addictions Medicine Physician, delivering crucial support for clients facing substance use challenges. This part time role promotes an inter-skilled care model in Vancouver. In this position, you will work across various Vancouver Community MHSU locations, committing between 2 to 5 sessions per week.
The role emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices in addiction medicine, contributing to enhanced patient care experiences for a diverse clientele. Key Responsibilities:
Provide addiction medicine services with a patient-centric focus
Collaborate with healthcare teams for effective patient outcomes
Support culturally secure practices for Indigenous clients
Utilize trauma-informed strategies in treatment planning
Involve family members in the recovery process Requirements:
Current full licensure from the College of Physicians of BC
Certification from the Canadian College of Family Practitioners
Proficiency in addiction medicine practices and assessments
Completed BC Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Program
