At Up Fundraising, we're looking for a passionate, confident, and people-focused Team Lead to help lead our In-Hospital Fundraising team for the Marotta Family Hospital fundraising program.
As a Team Lead, you'll play an significant role in representing Up Fundraising and the Niagara Health Foundation within the hospital. You'll lead by example, coach and motivate fundraisers, support daily campaign operations, and help create an environment where meaningful conversations with patients, families, visitors, staff, and community members can make a lasting difference.
You'll be responsible for helping your team achieve fundraising goals while ensuring every donor interaction is professional, compassionate, respectful, and aligned with the values of the hospital and Foundation.

What You'll DoTeam Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of In-Hospital Fundraisers throughout each shift.
- Set the standard for professionalism, empathy, communication, and donor engagement.
- Coach team members on effective conversation techniques, fundraising approaches, and donor interactions.
- Provide real-time feedback, encouragement, and performance coaching.
- Help new team members build confidence and become successful fundraisers.
- Recognize strong performance and help team members identify opportunities for improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven team culture.
- Act as a role model by consistently demonstrating strong work ethic, professionalism, and resilience.
Fundraising & Campaign Performance
- Actively participate in fundraising and donor conversations alongside the team.
- Work toward individual, team, and campaign fundraising goals.
- Monitor daily team performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Help motivate the team through challenges, targets, and periods of rejection.
- Share successful fundraising techniques and best practices with team members.
- Encourage authentic, empathetic, and engaging conversations that create positive donor experiences.
- Support the team in achieving monthly donor acquisition goals while maintaining high standards of integrity.
Hospital & Donor Experience
- Represent Up Fundraising and the Niagara Health Foundation with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
- Maintain a calm, welcoming, and approachable presence in an active healthcare environment.
- Ensure team members demonstrate sensitivity when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Help the team understand and follow hospital privacy, confidentiality,
health, and safety protocols.
- Address questions, concerns, or challenging situations professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Ensure donor registrations are completed accurately and securely using approved digital tools.
- Protect donor and hospital information and reinforce confidentiality standards with the team.
Daily Operations
- Support the smooth operation of fundraising activities throughout each shift.
- Help coordinate team positioning, breaks, daily priorities, and campaign activities.
- Communicate significant updates, expectations, and campaign information to team members.
- Work closely with Campaign Supervisors and management to support campaign objectives.
- Assist with onboarding and training new fundraisers.
- Provide feedback regarding team performance, attendance, conduct, and development.
- Help maintain a professional and organized fundraising environment.
- Follow all company, Foundation, and hospital policies and procedures.

- Previous leadership, coaching, mentoring, or supervisory experience is an asset.

- Strong empathy, emotional intelligence, and situational awareness.

- Fluency in English.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Compensation
- $20.00–$27.00 per hour, including performance-based bonuses.

Physical Requirements This role involves working in an active hospital environment and requires:

- Moving throughout the assigned fundraising area to support and coach team members.
- Working with energy, attentiveness, and professionalism in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
