The PUR Company

Ontario

The PUR Company is the fastest-growing gum and mint brand in North America. We’re the #1 selling gum on Amazon and are rapidly expanding our retail presence across the continent. Our growth is driven by products that meet the needs of today’s consumers: aspartame-free, sugar-free, and made with all-natural ingredients without compromising the chewing experience.

We’re a team of entrepreneurial thinkers with a relentless drive to get things done - passionate about what we do and our mission: to bring you a better-for-you alternative to the chewing gum industry.

This role sits at the intersection of HR and Culture. On any given day, you might be running a recruiting process, sorting out a benefits question, planning a team event, or working through something with no clear answer. That’s the job — and if that sounds energizing rather than exhausting, you’re probably the right person.

You’ll work directly alongside our Head of People & Culture as a real partner — not just an executor. You’re AI-curious and actively using it. You’ll have context, trust, and room to make calls. You’ll also need tact, grit, and a genuine comfort with grey. We’re not looking for someone who waits for a playbook. We’re looking for someone who writes one.

What You’ll Own

Full-cycle recruiting — job postings, sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding. You own the candidate experience from the first touchpoint to Day 1

Day-to-day HR operations — HRIS administration (UKG), benefits, employee inquiries, policy maintenance, and ESA compliance

Payroll inputs and backup — supporting accuracy and approvals

Joint Health & Safety Committee, quarterly meetings, office inspections, action items, keeping the program on track

Culture & events, monthly celebrations, seasonal parties, company off‑sites, and the smaller in‑between moments that actually build a team. You plan them, you own them, you make them good

Office and facilities experience, vendor relationships, and keeping the space running well

Performance cycles and salary reviews, partnering with the Head of P&C; and supporting managers through the process

Process improvement — spotting what’s broken, documenting what works, and building better where it doesn’t.

Job Requirements

3–5 years in a People Operations, HR Generalist, or People & Culture role — CPG, FMCG, or a fast-moving consumer environment is a strong plus

Solid working knowledge of Ontario employment law and ESA, you know what you know and you know when to ask

A high-volume operator. You handle admin-heavy work without dropping the ball and without making it anyone else’s problem

Tactful and people-smart. You read rooms, handle sensitive situations with care,

and know when to elevate and when to just handle it

Confident in managing ambiguity and building from scratch. Things shift fast here and you don’t freeze when they do

A genuine love of people and culture, not the LinkedIn version. You show up for the team, you remember names, and you care about the employee experience beyond the transactions

AI-curious and actively using it. We use AI tools as a team and we’re not slowing down. You don’t need to be an expert but if it’s already in your workflow, that matters

Available to be in the office 3 days a week, the days flex, but the presence matters

Sharp communicator, low ego, high follow-through

Nice to have

Experience with UKG Pro or a comparable HRIS

CHRP completed or actively in progress

Experience planning and executing workplace events and culture programming

Background in a scaling or high-growth organization

Why PUR?

Market-leading brand with strong consumer pull.

Entrepreneurial, high-accountability culture.

Real chance to build and grow

All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

We thank all candidates who are interested in applying for the position. Kindly note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

PUR is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment accommodation in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility to Ontarians with Disabilities Act. If contacted, please advise if you require accommodation during the hiring process.
