Job Description
The Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, anticipated start date January 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent, cutting-edge research in leadership, systems, and policy areas of health informatics.
- Secure and manage external research funding and lead multi‑disciplinary collaboration.
- Teach courses across the professional and research streams, including Leadership for Digital Health Transformation, Systems Design and Policy Development, Information and Interoperability Governance, AI/ML and Precision Medicine, and Digital Health Implementation.
- Develop and refine curriculum and contribute to the Institute’s professional programs.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and professional development.
- Participate in academic service and assume academic leadership roles within the Institute.
Qualifications
- PhD in Health Informatics, Information Science, Information Systems, or a related field, completed at the time of appointment.
- Expertise in implementation or scaling of digital health innovations, with strengths in data governance, socio‑technical systems, safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research in health informatics policy and leadership.
- Evidence of ability to attract competitive external research funding and publication in top‑ranked peer‑reviewed journals.
- Strong teaching dossier, including philosophy statement, course materials, teaching evaluations, and endorsements from referees of high standing.
- Commitment to integrating knowledge users, policymakers, and members of the public in research.
Salary
Expected salary range: $130,000–$150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience.
