Job Title

Senior Test Lead for Virtual Care Products

Description The Agency requires a Senior Test Lead to lead quality assurance activities supporting the modernization and expansion of the Provincial Health Services Directory (PHSD).

The Senior Test

Lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and reporting on functional, integration, API, interoperability, automation, performance, security, accessibility, and user acceptance testing activities across the PHSD platform. The role requires extensive experience testing healthcare applications utilizing FHIR R4/R4B, SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2, Smile CDR, AWS HealthLake, REST APIs, OpenSearch, OAuth2/OIDC, cloud-native AWS services, and enterprise healthcare integrations. The resource will work closely with development, architecture, interoperability, operations, and business teams to ensure that all platform enhancements meet functional, technical, interoperability, privacy, security, and operational requirements prior to production implementation.

Must Haves:

- Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, test execution reports, defect reports, and release readiness assessments.
- Hands-on functional testing experience for Java/Spring Boot applications, React applications, REST APIs, and database-driven applications.
- Experience developing automated UI tests using Playwright.
- Experience performing API testing using Postman and vREST.
- Experience testing healthcare interoperability using FHIR R4/R4B, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and REST APIs.
- Experience testing Smile CDR implementations, FHIR repositories, search operations, validation, and terminology services.
- Experience testing AWS HealthLake integrations and healthcare data synchronization.
- Experience validating provider directory search, FHIR search parameters, OpenSearch functionality, and search relevance.
- Experience testing integrations with Provider Registry, Master Data Management systems,



hospital information systems, and other healthcare integration platforms.
- Experience coordinating system integration testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, UAT, accessibility, performance, and production readiness activities.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain the overall PHSD test strategy, test plan, test schedule, and quality assurance approach.
- Lead functional, system integration, API, interoperability, regression, performance, accessibility, security, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute Playwright automated regression suites for PHSD user interfaces.
- Develop and maintain Postman and vREST collections for REST APIs, FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR workflows, and healthcare integration services.
- Validate Smile CDR functionality including FHIR repositories, resource validation, search operations, terminology services, transactions, and interoperability workflows.
- Validate AWS HealthLake integrations including data ingestion, synchronization, retrieval, and FHIR resource processing.
- Test provider, practitioner, organization, healthcare service, and location data management workflows.
- Validate real-time synchronization between PHSD, Master Data Management platforms, Provider Registry, and consuming applications.
- Validate OpenSearch provider directory search functionality including filtering, ranking, relevance, and FHIR search parameter support.
- Validate SMART on FHIR authentication, OAuth2/OIDC authorization, JWT processing, and role-based access control.
- Test integrations with hospital information systems including Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, and other provincial digital health systems.
- Coordinate defect triage activities and provide testing progress, quality metrics, automation coverage, and release readiness reporting.
- Support production implementation, warranty validation, post-production verification, and operational readiness activities.
- Prepare testing documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and operational testing procedures.

Desired Skills:

- Experience testing Smile CDR production implementations.
- Experience testing AWS HealthLake implementations.
- Experience validating FHIR Implementation Guides, terminology services, and interoperability conformance.
- Experience testing OpenSearch implementations supporting provider and healthcare service discovery.
- Experience testing event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and FHIR event notifications.

Required Skills:

- Test leadership, quality assurance planning, test coordination, defect management, release readiness assessment, and quality reporting.

- Validation of Smile CDR functionality including FHIR repositories, search operations, terminology services, resource validation, and interoperability workflows.
- Testing AWS HealthLake integrations, healthcare data synchronization, and FHIR resource management.
- Testing provider directory search functionality using OpenSearch and FHIR search capabilities.
- Validation of integrations with Provider Registry, Master Data Management platforms, hospital information systems, and provincial digital health assets.
- Experience coordinating functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, security, user acceptance, and production validation testing.
- Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and knowledge transfer skills.

Additional Terms The term of this Engagement Assignment is for 164 Business Days. The Engagement Assignment may be extended for unused Business Days at the Agency’s discretion. The resource will comply with the Agency’s policies and procedures.

The resource will be issued an Agency laptop and is expected to provide at least one additional monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse at their own expense. In addition, when the resource is working from their home location they must have a private office space and are not permitted to work in an open communal space. Internet connection must be hard-wired and suitable bandwidth to support the IT requirements of this role.

If these conditions cannot be met within their home office space, the resource will transition to full time in office, and the hybrid option will no longer be available.
