Job Description Vortex Stratgie & recrutement is actively seeking for a HR Operations Manager for its client, a company in the construction industry located on the south shore of Montreal. A rapidly growing company with approximately 50 employees, our client plans to double its workforce over the next few years.
In this context, establishing a new Human Resources department is essential to support and structure this growth.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining modern, fair, and effective Human Resources practices tailored to the realities of the construction industry.
You will act as a strategic partner to both site and office managers, ensuring the consistency, compliance, and effectiveness of HR programs.
Your Role and Responsibilities Develop and structure the entire recruitment process, including job postings, on-site recruitment activities (schools), candidate screening, conducting interviews, updating job descriptions, and contributing to workforce planning; Prepare and maintain employee records (new hires, departures, leaves, absences, vacations, anniversaries, contracts, uniforms, etc.); Provide support to employees and managers regarding the application of company policies and procedures; Ensure compliance with labour laws, CNESST requirements, and occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations on construction sites, including the preparation of required documentation and implementation of necessary actions; Coordinate and manage CNESST claims and disability cases, from opening the files through to resolution; Coordinate the onboarding and integration of new employees; In collaboration with company leadership,
develop a strategic employer branding plan to support talent attraction efforts; Develop and maintain partnerships with vocational schools (DEP programs) by participating in recruitment activities to attract and recruit future graduates; In collaboration with the management team, organize events aimed at maintaining a positive team spirit (team-building activities and Christmas party); During your first year, you will be responsible for implementing a group insurance plan for all employees; Manage employee relations, assist with conflict resolution, and provide support to employees; Implement a performance management process, including employee performance reviews; Perform any other related duties associated with establishing a new Human Resources department.
Requirements Bachelors degree in Human Resources and/or a related field; Membership with the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agrs (CRHA) is considered an asset; Experience in the construction and/or industrial sector is considered an asset; Strong organizational skills and excellent ability to manage priorities; Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities; Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously; Excellent writing skills and ability to synthesize information; Autonomy, confidence, thoroughness, dynamism, empathy, and solid interpersonal skills; We are looking for someone who shares the following values: respect, excellence, ethics, collaboration, and enjoyment at work.
