How youll make an impact The Laser Programmer is responsible for cutting steel using various types of laser cutting processes.
The operator will load, run, program,
and maintain flatbed laser machine according to the production schedule while ensuring productivity and efficiency targets are met.
This role requires specialized skills to operate and maintain laser equipment effectively.
Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $26.54 Position Overview The Laser Operatoris responsible foroperatingandmaintainingflatbed laser cutting machines to cut steel and other metalsin accordance withproduction specifications.
This role involves setting up equipment, programming machines,design of cutting programs,monitoring operations, and ensuring that all output meets quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate willpossessstrong technical skills, attention to detail,programming experienceand a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Safely set up,operate, andmonitorflatbed laser cutting machines (including both lasers) according to job requirements and safety protocols Load and unload raw materials, inspecting steel for defects or irregularities prior to processing Useappropriate liftingequipment and tools to safely handle and position materials Interpret work orders, blueprints,
and production schedules todeterminemachine settings and cutting specifications Ensure correct material types are used and positioned properly foroptimalcutting results Conduct test runs andadjustlaser settings (speed, power, focus, etc.) based on material and design specifications Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work setting in compliance with safety regulations Identifyand troubleshoot machine issues; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to maximize machine uptime and cutting quality Measure and inspect finished parts to verify accuracy and adherence to design specifications Monitor for quality control by checking for defects and ensuring finished pieces meet quality standards Assistwith other duties as needed to support production and team goals Quality Knowledge Requirements Follow Safe Work Standards and Job Instructions Experience using
Lantekand AutoCAD to program and design parts Follow 200 Level Manuals as designated (calibration, document control, material substitution) Quality Plan Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED/CAEC)required Technical or vocational training preferred 35years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment Prior experience operating laser cutting machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication settingrequired As a fulltime permanent employee, you would receive: Competitive health and dental benefits Production Bonus plan Retirement savings program with company matched pension plan This posting is for an existing vacancy.
