About the Role Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation Department, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week.
Weekend and evening work is required.
These positions will end March 31, 2027.
This position will assist with providing an exceptional experience to MRU fans by serving customers at the Cougars concessions and admissions during soccer, volleyball and basketball home games.
Food Handler Certificate and Alberta Pro
Serve certificate are required.
The candidate should be available to work all soccer, volleyball and basketball home games, primarily on Fridays,Saturdaysfrom October through March, with some Sunday shifts in September and October.

Employees will be scheduled for either a concessions shift, or an admissions shift, but may be expected to assist in other areas as needed.
The successful candidates may be required to cover shifts at MRU Hockey games at Flames Community Arena, as necessary.
Responsibilities Serve food and beverages to patrons.
Manage all aspects of game day admissions, including selling tickets, completing payments, and scanning tickets.
Manage orders and service in a timely manner with a positive attitude.
Follow proper food handling and cleanliness standards Follow regulations for service of alcoholic beverages Ensure the concessions space remains clean and organized at all times Troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner.
Ensure an exceptional fan experience by providing superior customer service.
Qualifications Must have Food Handler Certification and Alberta Pro
Serve Certification Experience working in food services.
Experience with transactions in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently and within a team, with minimal direction.
Ability to remain calm in a fast paced workplace.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail in all areas of work.
Strong understanding of food trends.
Experience working with Clover POS, Showpass and Square POS systems is considered an asset.
