We are seeking an experienced and driven Chief Engineer to lead the Power Plant and Building Services operations at our food manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations while driving continuous improvement across utilities, refrigeration, and facility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Facility Management Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities to ensure optimum facility performance Manage daily operations of the Power Plant, refrigeration systems, facility-wide piping, and fire protection systems Monitor and manage plant utilities (electricity, gas, water) against established KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed Ensure all activities comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal business standards Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers and plant operations staff Manage hiring, performance reviews, training needs, and ongoing coaching Foster a culture of excellence in safety, productivity, quality, and continuous improvement Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Oversee the Environmental Control program, ensuring adherence to all internal policies and external regulations Manage Wastewater Treatment Plant operations where applicable Ensure all legislative requirements are met and results reported to relevant internal and external stakeholders Project & Asset Management Lead and collaborate on improvement projects from scoping and documentation through execution and monitoring Identify opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, cost efficiency,



and operational performance Maintain inventory of maintenance items and manage procurement of parts and supplies Manage the Quality Program for piping and pressure vessel repair and alteration; perform audits, document repairs, and report to TSSA Key Qualifications Certified First or Second Class Stationary Engineer (Province of Ontario or equivalent) Minimum 5 years of experience in a dairy, food processing, or manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience in Power Plant and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant operations Experience supervising Second Class Stationary Engineers and Power Plant operations teams Knowledge of Class III Extended Dairy Industry Wastewater Treatment Familiarity with Environmental Control systems and associated legislative requirements Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration systems and related legislative compliance Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and management software Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills Proven ability to lead teams and drive results in a fast-paced setting Commitment to teamwork, safety, and operational excellence What We Offer Competitive base salary starting at $118,000+ Performance-based bonus program 4 weeks of vacation Comprehensive benefits package starting on day one Pension program with 100% employer match up to 6% Tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 per year Paid volunteer day to give back to your community Learning, development, and internal career advancement opportunities Potential for international mobility within a global organization The salary range for this role is $120K-$140K.
