Since its inception in 1965 as a custom Tool & Die machine shop; Guelph Manufacturing Group Inc. (GMG) has evolved into a leading manufacturer and supplier of metal stampings, assemblies, headrest and armrest inserts, wire form, and other metal components to the automotive industry. Celebrating 60 years as a family-owned company, GMG has 3 plants in Guelph, Ontario. Our sales office is located in Warren, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

- Reads and interprets complex engineering drawings, tooling drawings and work-process documentation
- Designs, builds, changes and repairs dies, forms, cutting tools, gauges, jigs and fixtures for the manufacturing sector
- Builds precision dies, tools and prototypes using conventional and numerically controlled metal-cutting and forming machines and equipment including saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, die presses and electrical discharge machines




- Performs work-in-process measuring and checking using specialized and precision tools and equipment
- Prioritize workload through press scheduling .
- Assess tooling before removing from work centre.
- Follow die maintenance procedures
- Assist engineering on die problems
- Will comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Related Experience:

- Recognized completion of Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 5 years related experience in tool and progressive die maintenance in a stamping environment
- Overhead Crane certification
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to approximately 40 lbs
- Transfer die experience
- Previous experience within the automotive manufacturing industry is an asset
- Welding/pneumatic/hydraulic experience an asset
