:

- Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Officer III to support capital markets operations, securities lending activities, trade settlements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting functions.
- This role offers exposure to prime brokerage, securities lending, capital markets operations, and securities platforms within a fast-paced financial services environment.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate trade processing, resolving settlement issues, performing reconciliations, and maintaining high service standards while adhering to regulatory and operational requirements.
- Hybrid work arrangement with the first 90 days primarily onsite in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

- Perform securities lending, balancing, trade reconciliations, and trade settlement activities.
- Complete daily reconciliations, projections, operational reporting, and exception management.
- Investigate and resolve settlement breaks, suspense items, clearing outages, and financial discrepancies.
- Provide fails reporting and trade status updates to clients while meeting established service levels.
- Execute NI24-101 trade matching and CDS Arrow bind/netting procedures.
- Review and monitor pending trade reports, DTC/CDS settlements, and unmatched trade activity.
- Process international trade settlements and monitor market reports for settlement status.
- Respond to client and partner inquiries with timely and accurate resolutions.
- Maintain process documentation and support operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, internal controls, AML requirements, and operational procedures.
- Monitor shared mailboxes and support daily operational workflows.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure adequate desk coverage and cross-functional support.

Experience:

- Must have 5+ years of experience within banking, capital markets, or financial services.




- Must have prior reconciliation experience involving financial discrepancies, exception handling, and operational investigations.
- Must have hands-on Trade Settlements experience with CDS and DTC platforms.
- Must have strong capital markets and trading operations knowledge.
- Experience in securities lending, prime brokerage, or clearing and settlement operations is highly preferred.
- Experience with regulatory trade matching processes and settlement reporting is an asset.
- Experience working in a high-volume operational environment with strict deadlines.

Skillsets:

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Macros.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities.
- Trade settlements expertise with CDS/DTC.
- Capital markets and trading operations knowledge.
- Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of securities lending operations and regulatory reporting.
- Understanding of financial products, settlements, and operational risk controls.
- Coding knowledge is considered an asset.

Education: • University degree required.

Certifications: CSC, CFA, or CGA certifications are considered.
