Company description The West Coast Cycling Association is a non-profit organization committed to developing, maintaining and promoting multi-use trails on the West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The West Coast Cycling Association is looking to hire a team member annual construction of our multi-use trail network near Corner Brook, NL.
Applicants should be in positive physical shape. Trail maintenance requires significant effort and will include heavy lifting, transporting tools, building materials and more.
Duties include, and are not limited to:
-clearing fallen trees
-use of rakes/digging tools/grubbing tools to remove dirt/rock
-building wooden structures with lumber, and using hand tools
-communication and following recommendations from team leader
-Installing signage A desire and ability to work hard with minimal oversight is important. A passion for trail development, the outdoors and using multi use trails will be an asset.
Tolerance for discomfort is important.
Work will continue in cold, hot, and sometimes wet weather. The ability to maintain high morale and team spirit in these conditions is important.
Completion of a chainsaw and brush cutter training course may be required, and training will be provided for successful candidates without prior experience.
All work will be completed outdoors.
Compensation based on experience, Starting @ $20/hr.
