Job Summary The Program Assistant position works to support the Programming team in the delivery of the Community Builders Training Program, typically in a specific area. The position will have a designated focus, but will also provide general support to the Training Program Supervisor, and Construction Training Facilitator to ensure the overall success of the Trainees’ experience.

Responsibilities

Training Program Delivery

- Support the Construction Training Coordinator and Training Program Supervisor in delivering construction and soft skills training and theory; Act as a second set of eyes in the shop to ensure accuracy and safety; Lead specific components of training where asked; Assist trainees who are struggling with a particular skill; Provides case management support, where asked
- Maintain Shop, Tools, and Materials; Assist the Construction Training Facilitator in maintaining a tidy shop, manage tools, and material inventory; Assist with set up and take down of projects and learning environments as needed
- Support Trainees on site learning experience; Works with Trainees in the field, when they are not in the classroom; Support individual trainees that are struggling with particular skills; Support trainers in re-teaching skills, as requested
- Transports trainees as needed

People + Relationship Management
- Assist with alumni events and supports; Maintain Alumni data and reporting requirements; Maintain communication with Alumni and provide resources as available

Qualifications

- Experience working with individuals with a variety of different lived experiences and those with barriers to employment
- Knowledge of teaching best practices and adult learning styles
- 2 years experience in construction at a Lead Hand level or above
- Valid Class G Drivers’ License

Working Conditions

- Work in all weather conditions indoors and outdoors
- Daily routine will often vary
- Some computer work may be required
- Lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment over 50lbs may be required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must have steel toed shoes, hard hat and a smart phone

Pay: $24.00 per hour
