Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Be aware of any allergies a student may have.
Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the contextof the Denesuline culture and language.
Offer students the opportunity to interact with peers and learn social skills, learn schoolroutines, and build a strong foundation for further success in school.
Required to plan and organize materials ahead of time so when the student arrive, theroom and the Educators are ready to engage with student.
Provide positive ways for family engagement for learning success and provide awelcoming space that draws parents into the classroom.
Assess and document student learning daily.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be patient, flexible, observant, and passionate.
Must have communications skills such as: verbal and nonverbal, active listening, andempathy.
Must have strong understanding of Effective Practices, Policies and Guidelines, and
Saskatchewan Curriculum.
To follow the provincial Ministry of Education curricula and focuses on holistic childdevelopment including the social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains.
Actively engage with families, children, and community members to understand theirbackgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.
Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-basedstaff, students, parents and community.
Maintain confidentiality of students and other professional information
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent.
Must be eligible for or posses a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community would be an asset.
First Aid Certification would be an asset Related training or experience in the field of education would be a definite asset.
