Become an Alternate Format Production Technician with the Vancouver School Board at the Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired. This role focuses on creating accessible educational materials for students with visual impairments.
In this in-person role, you will utilize your technical skills to focus on STEM content production. Collaborate with various teams to develop and record webinars and learning opportunities. Your work will ensure that students with perceptual disabilities receive the educational materials they need for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Scan hard copy materials for digital formatting
• Remediate digital files into STEM-focused formats
• Proofread electronic texts across various formats
• Create 3D printed models for alternate content
• Provide technical support to PRCVI staff
Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus 2 years in Media Production or similar
• 4 years of related experience is preferred
• Proficient in OCR software and Microsoft Office
• Familiar with digital accessibility principles
• Ability to handle materials up to 10 kg
