Working hours 40 hours a week. 8am - 5pm Your initial duties, which may be altered from time to time wil include, - Each term coordinates recruitment of TA's including recommending to instructors, the best TA (using umcareers/vip to review applicants). In collaboration with the successful applicant, schedules timeslots for TA's with their availability. Once schedule is made, the admin assistant will then make the offers to the students. - Supervision of all TAs for tutorial labs and other UG courses. This includes performance evaluations for all intro course TAs and escalating any disciplinary matters to undergrad chair. - Conducts training sessions for new TAs - this is usually a one day session which includes topics such as General Safety Info, Reminder and Expectations of a TAs, HR and CUPE Rep giving a short talk, Crowdmark & Scanning and classroom demonstration - Training and guidance to TAs with the process of accessing Crowdmark and R - Scheduling and managing TAs for Statistics Help Centre - eg. (if a TA calls in sick, the incumbent would find a replacement) - Maintain database of grades from quizzes and exams - Provides training on R and other statistical software - Collaborate with Science Innovation Hub on data driven projects and develop workshops on demand.
- Provide data analytics and consulting solutions to internal and external clients. - At the direction of the Department Head/Associate Head, conduct workshops and training sessions for various clients in data analytics and programming languages (R and other statistical software Any faculty/staff at U of Manitoba are welcome to attend. - Develop custom build approaches and algorithms to apply to datasets arising from clients. - Ensures that technical assistance is provided throughout the database development and implementation phases of a research projectMeets regularly with Consulting Manager to discuss progress of various research projects, issues and status, and quality of data collection. Seeks out the appropriate student to work on consulting projects. - Write up the data in a report format that can be read by a wide audience without a research background. - Performs other related duties as required or assigned The University of Manitoba is a driving force of innovation, discovery and advancement.
