Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year Tasks Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Prepare tenders and quotations Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites Survey building locations and levels Instruct apprentices Supervise other workers Work conditions and physical capabilities Tight deadlines Personal suitability Accurate Team player Screening questions Do you have experience working in this field?
