About Our Opportunity As a Bilingual Customer Service Representative, Transaction Services, you complete transactions and provide quality service to our individual and business customers. Working in a fast paced, continuously evolving service delivery environment, you scrutinize records, process documents, and apply relevant legislation and policy. You also issue primary identity documents such as Driver’s Licenses and Nova Scotia Identification cards. Other key responsibilities include maintaining security/control of public funds and issuing and securing control of serial numbered and non-serial numbered inventory. While exercising a high degree of confidentiality, you accurately enter and retrieve data from automated systems. In your work, you interact with the general public, providing excellent customer service.
About You To be considered for this position, you hold a minimum of four years of experience in a rapid-paced, front-line customer service environment.



An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.You are fully bilingual (both English and French). In addition, you are a flexible team-player with strong customer service skills, and you complete your work with efficiency and accuracy.Furthermore, you possess the following:
Experience in balancing accounts.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent judgment.
Demonstrated ability to diplomatically deal with the general public and to effectively manage difficult client engagements.
Strong data entry and computer skills.
A high aptitude to acquire, retain, organize and apply policies and procedures.
Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
The following would be viewed as assets: knowledge of Service Nova Scotia programs, the ability to scrutinize and reconcile financial information and to detect and resolve discrepancies, and experience in cash handling.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
Other Considerations: The incumbent must be able to work during operational hours (eg. ex. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Travel may be required for training and work purposes. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the employer.
This is a permanent full-time bilingual position based in Dartmouth. Fluency in English and French is required for this position.
Pay Grade: CL 18
Salary Range: $1,848.39- $2,068.11Bi-Weekly
