Our client in Waterloo is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing team.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of significant accounting tasks, contribute to a faster and more efficient month-end close, and play a key part in audit preparation.

What our client has to offer: Comprehensive benefits package 15 days (3 weeks) of vacation Support for CPA certification Responsibilities: Take a lead role in audit preparation, ensuring schedules are accurate and properly tied out for yearly audits.

Contribute to month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on efficiency and understanding the underlying reasons.

Monitor cash flow and daily treasury activities to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements and support cash-flow planning.

Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for recent construction and renovation projects.





Assist with annual operating and capital budgets.

Assist with Accounts Payable Identify and implement process improvements, potentially leveraging AI and other technological tools.

Collaborate closely with team members on year-end processes.

Qualifications: 1 plus years of general accounting experience Familiarity with audit preparation and month-end close.

Working towards or planning to work towards your CPA is ideal, but not required; the company supports candidates pursuing their CPA.

Growth mindset and a desire to learn and improve business processes.

Curious, investigative, and questioning nature.

Interest in technology and tools (AI, Copilot, Claude).
