Job Overview: As a Senior Payroll Administrator , you will manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws, and serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
You will collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain seamless payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll accurately for employees across Canada (including multi-province setups).
Calculate regular pay, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (CPP, EI, taxes, perks).
Ensure compliance with federal/provincial regulations (CRA, Employment Standards, ROE, T4/T4A).
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies with Finance.
Manage year-end processes (T4s, T2200s, tax filings).
Administer benefits, RRSPs, and pension contributions (if applicable).
Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly.
Maintain payroll records securely and confidentially.
Stay updated on Canadian payroll legislation changes .
Basic Qualifications: Education: Diploma/Certificate in Payroll Administration, Accounting, or Finance (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 7+ years in Canadian payroll processing (PCP certification in progress or completed is a strong asset ).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Payworks, Quick
Books) and Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
Knowledge: Canadian payroll laws (CRA, EI/CPP, provincial employment standards).
Basic accounting principles (GL reconciliations).
Soft Skills: High accuracy, confidentiality, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-Haves: PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) designation.
Experience with unionized payrolls or multi-province payrolls .
Bilingual (English/French).
