**Job Title: Carpenter**
**Job Description**
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial special projects, performing general carpentry with a solid focus on concrete and structural work.

You will carry out tasks such as formwork, back framing, envelope work, and civil work, including applying membranes and insulation, installing concrete cladding, building and stripping forms, and working with brace bays and coil rod forming systems.

You will also tie rebar and support general labour tasks as needed, contributing to a fast-paced, safety-focused construction environment.
**Responsibilities**
Perform a wide range of commercial carpentry tasks, including formwork, back framing, envelope work, and civil work on various special projects.

Apply membrane and insulation materials accurately and efficiently to meet project specifications.

Install and work with concrete cladding systems, ensuring structural integrity and quality finishes.

Build, install, and strip concrete forms, including working with brace bays and coil rod forming systems.

Tie rebar and assist with reinforcing concrete structures as required by project plans.

Operate hand and power tools such as skill saws, nail guns, and other carpentry tools safely and effectively.

Interpret and work from basic blueprints and drawings to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Work independently to complete assigned duties while also collaborating with the site team when required.

Support general labour tasks on site when needed to keep the project running smoothly.

Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a fast-paced, safety-focused work environment.

Report directly to the site supervisor and follow direction regarding daily tasks, priorities, and site requirements.

Adapt to working on multiple floors and different site conditions across various projects.

Be available and willing to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a carpenter in a construction workplace.

Strong carpentry skills with experience in commercial construction and general carpentry work.

Hands-on experience with formwork, including building and stripping forms for concrete structures.

Proficiency using hand and power tools such as skill saws, nail guns, and related carpentry equipment.

Ability to work confidently with concrete, including cladding and structural elements.

Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints to complete tasks accurately.

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Willingness and ability to perform civil work as part of the role.

Possession of a tool belt and core hand tools required for carpentry work.

Reliable transportation (car) for access to current and future project sites.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Scissor lift or boom lift certification is an asset.

Commercial envelope experience is considered an advantage.

Comfort working on multiple floors and in changing site conditions.





Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative and reliable work ethic.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, safety-focused construction environment.

**Work Environment**
sYou will work on commercial construction sites, including projects such as a 4 m x 12.5 m seismic concrete base and multi-floor structures.

The environment is fast-paced and strongly focused on safety, requiring consistent adherence to site safety protocols and procedures.

You will use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as work with concrete, formwork systems, brace bays, and coil rod forming systems.

Start times vary by site, typically starting at 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 7:30 a.m., and overtime is available when project needs require it.

Parking can be limited at some sites, so taking public transit such as the train is recommended, while having a car is beneficial for accessing future projects.

You will report directly to the site supervisor and work as part of a collaborative team that values reliability, safety, and productivity.

Appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment are required at all times on site.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Burnaby,BC.
