Join Sheshegwaning First Nation as a Post-Majority Support Worker. Provide culturally safe support to young adults transitioning from care through education, coaching, and cultural activities.
This full-time role focuses on helping young adults aged 18 to 29 develop skills in budgeting, financial literacy, and housing. You will encourage participation in traditional teachings and help secure training opportunities. With your support, youth can build individualized plans that promote independence and preparation for employment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide education on budgeting, time management, and literacy
• Support youth with post-secondary and training applications
• Encourage participation in cultural teachings and ceremonies
• Assist youth in securing protected housing
• Develop personalized support plans for each youth
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Social Services or related field
• Minimum two years of experience with young adults
• Knowledge of child welfare systems as an asset
• Valid “G” Class driver’s license required
• Flexibility for overtime or evening work
