FOOD INDUSTRY COMPANY LOOKING FOR AN ACCOUNTANT

Busy Food Production company is looking for an Accountant to join our growing team based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Who We Are: Chef Brandz Inc. is a food manufacturing and consulting company focused on culinary product development, menu design and production. In addition to our own branded products, we produce private label food products and HMR menus for some of the largest retailers, restaurants and airlines in Canada and internationally.

Job Description: In this position, the candidate is responsible for working closely with the Manager of Finance and Controller to manage the day-to-today financial activities and month-end closing for the food production facilities, using Quickbooks software.

Main Responsibilities

Full cycle accounting including accounts receivable and payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end accruals and payroll entries.

Prepare month-end adjusting entries and reconcile intercompany balances/ transactions.

Assist in month-end and year-end financial statement closings with variance analyses of financial results.

Reconcile, analyze and maintain various general ledger accounts.

Prepare and remit all government and business-related remittances including HST filings.

Cash projections and budgeting.

Maintain fixed assets schedule including acquisition, disposals and amortization.





Perform monthly inventory counts.

Required to travel twice a month to other facilities.

What we are looking for

Very strong technical skills; proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and QuickBooks.

Excellent analytical skills, highly organized and ability to prioritize projects and tasks independently.

Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to solve problems independently.

Understanding and knowledge of product formulations, manufacturing process or inventory management is a strong asset.

Passion for food or cooking is an asset.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in accounting or related field.

4-6 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
