**Job Description**
**WHAT'S THE JOB?**
The Third Cook is a support role within the culinary team, working both day and night shifts.

This position is responsible for preparing a variety of menu items for bagged lunches, breakfast, and dinner service, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
**This position is safety sensitive and requires a criminal record check.**
**The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:**
All meals and accommodations are provided
**Travel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in Winnipeg, Thompson, Flin Flon and The Pas.**
Private room with cable television
Access to Wi-Fi
Access to laundry facilities and detergents
Access to a gym and common areas
**Key responsibilities include:**
Maintain a safe and clean working workplace at all times
Provide consistent,



high-quality service to all guests
Keep workstations clean and organized throughout the shift
Prepare hot and cold food items, including: Cut fruits and vegetables
Simple and mixed salads (e.g., potato, pasta)
Items for bagged lunches and menu service
Prepare portioned vegetable cups and fruit cups
Prepare made-to-order sandwiches and salads based on order sheets
Ensure all food safety standards are followed
Complete HACCP and production logs
Label and date all prepared food items
Transport used kitchenware to dishwashing areas
Perform end-of-shift cleaning, including sweeping and mopping
Complete scheduled weekly and monthly cleaning tasks
Remove garbage as required
Receive and store supplies (food, beverage, chemicals, disposables)
Assist with deliveries and maintain organized storage areas
Support dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning duties
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or chef
Daily completion of FLHA (Field Level Hazard Assessment)
Daily adherence to DWB (Don’t Walk By) safety practices
**Qualifications**
**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
Large-scale cooking in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
Current Food Safe certification is preferred
Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Background Check




Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Ability to commit to a 2 week on/1 week off rotation
A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
Ability to handle the following physical demands: Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
Climb ladders or stairs
Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
Perform work with arms at full length
Work with arms above shoulder height

**Work schedule and remuneration:**
3rd Cooks work on a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/1 week off.

Site locations are in remote settings, requiring either air travel to site, or via ground on our shuttle.

You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.

Wages are paid on an hourly basis with a starting rate of $17.00 per hour.
